New search engine technology offers unbiased system for finding the right site on the Web
SAN DIEGO - March 7, 2000 - Clickey (www.Clickey.com) today announced the launch of a new search engine that brings end users and business owners together more quickly and efficiently by returning only top-level domain names.
Clickey's new domain search function is the first in a series of user-friendly tools that list only those sites with the designated search word in the domain name. Users can perform searches by domain or by keyword, with or without specifying a geographic location. By listing only one URL per company - and by limiting results to sites that are actively maintained - Clickey eliminates thousands of irrelevant Web pages.
"Clickey differs from other search engines by providing top-level domain name searches," said John DeUlloa, president of Clickey. "The domain search function gives the user more accurate results. For example, a search for the term MP3 yields only those Web sites which contain MP3 as part of their domain name."
In addition to simplifying searches, Clickey empowers business owners to lead customers directly to their sites. Unlike other search engines - which favor sites with high-traffic and those willing to bid for the top spots - Clickey lists only those sites that are relevant to the search. The domain name search brings even more equity to the search process through a unique algorithm that rotates the order of Web site listings to ensure maximum exposure for site owners, while giving users a wider selection of content.
Clickey also offers site owners an affiliate program that provides increased visibility to their site free of charge. When an end user reaches Clickey through a link from an affiliate's Web site, the logo from that affiliate is predominately displayed at the top of all Clickey's search result pages and serves as a link back to the affiliate's home page. Clickey now becomes that affiliate's personal search engine, allowing the affiliate to build their brand even while users search for other sites.
